"Unity is the pillar to victory

and victory is the pillar of happiness."

- Breyia Walker

Breyia Walker has served as the graduate school senator at Texas Southern University as well as the President of the Graduate School Committee (GSC). This was a transformative moment in her journey. The mission of the graduate school committee was to bridge the gap between distanced learners and campus life.

The grad school senator's seat remained empty for a substantial amount of time, that is until one of Ms. Walker's colleagues suggested that she fill it.  Once the seat was filled and the official committee was established, they hit the ground running without looking back.

To generate awareness of their contributions, the

GSC organized a gala to raise funds for scholarships.

The celebration was centered around the grad school Dean, Dr. Gregory Maddox, who has been dedicated

to the TSU Tigers for 30+ years.

The support from students and staff was undeniable. The event's profit exceeded over 25% of the target goal.
